External Hard Drive

So, I don't know if that is what I need or not, does anyone have any ideas on how to tell if my computer is just slow because of the lack of memory? I am also wondering if anyone has access to a cheaper external hard drive if that is what I need.

What seems to be the issue? how much memory do you have? You can check by going to start right click on my computer, click on properties. If you have less than 512 megs of memory and running window xp then adding more memory might help. If you are running windows vista take the computer back get a refund and don't use computers ever again. Vista is a pos. Get at least 3 gigs of memory if you are running vista, or turn off aero.

An external hard drive could be useful if you are running out of hard drive space. Also you could backup all your important stuff to an external hard drive. just don't drop it. One of your brothers was spinning in my chair and caught the usb cable with his foot and I lost a 250 gig drive full of stuff. Click, click, click. A sound you do not want to hear from a drive.

I tried to right click on start to see, and it didn't tell me anything about my memory. I don't know what is going on, it isn't always extremely slow, but you worked on it, you saw how it worked. I also uploaded photoshop onto it and that takes forever to work. So, I am wondering if I should get a new computer or put all my photos on the external hard drive. I really don't know seeing how I just want to use a computer that is fast, and I don't care about all the little details other than I just want some one to tell me!!!! I guess I would have to worry about my kids with the ehd, but you would have thought your own brother would have protected it for you. I don't think he will read this, so we can trash talk him all we want. Oh, and I am running xp, not vista. So, no worries.

Oh, and I am assuming I have as little as memory as possible because my husband is cheap in the most loving of all ways.

you need more ram. you should be able tp upgrade your memory fairly easily for a few hundred, rather than dropping a chunk of change on a whole new computer. you should also clear yur cahce if you havent been, as this slows down your internet speed. and you probably need to compress your photo files if you have a lot of them. don't listen to bowb, he's biased ;-)
