Tar Pit Photos

So here are a few pics. This is Danny's new cheesy smile aren't I cute face. He will do this and walk around with his arms out in front of him like a zombie/blindman. Up top is the tarpits. It would be cool to be a volunteer and retrieve the fossils, dirty job, but cool.

Favorite Color

It looks like our favorite color is blue. But then again I did vote three different times on different computers. I cheat. But that's okay. I'm sitting at work now still trying to recoup from last night. I had over 8 referrals to work up last night. It was great fun. We need to come up with better polls. Or I do at least.

Science museum? Blahhh.

I mean i like science and all but mom is making us go to this thing. I like the mcwane center ( another sci museum thats really cool) but i dont think ill like this one. Oh well at least i get to wear my fav outfit to it, cause nothing gets dirty in a science museum right? Oh yeah can someone ask christian if i get a refund if the makeup cracked and fell apart in the mail??

Elementary School Math + Me = Duh...

So I've invited myself to this little party...hope you all don't mind. I'm at Dan's work at the moment. He's talking to people about eyeballs, and I'm doing homework from which I need a break...

Otis has 12 coins in his pocket worth $1.10. If he only has nickels, dimes, and quarters, what are all of the possible coin combinations?

This is one example of my math problems so far this semester in my Math for Elementary School Teachers class. They're manageable (not easy, just manageable) but by the time I get to the point of figuring out the easiest way to solve the problem, I've had to figure it out the long way first, and then go back and look at it to see the obvious (and easier) way to do it. My brain hurts. I've done too many of these already in the past two weeks. Dan just recommended that I call Johnny for help. Which I may end up doing eventually...Also, my teacher is frightening. She made a girl cry the other day.

Other than that things are going well. This semester is going to be tough for both of us. Probably more-so for Dan. It's only the second week into it and we are both pretty stressed out already. We'll survive. Hope everyone is doing well! Have a good night.

Bowb, Bowb

Hey, I didn't get an invitation on my hotmail account to use the blog, so I think it has to be a goole account: either yahoo or gmail or something. So, what do you want to do if people don't have those accounts-all can create their own account, but just so you know. It would work to keep it private that way. I don't know how many people will choose to get on our blog site, but still. We all know what you mean.

Allowing others to post.

All right. In order to allow other to post under their own name in the blog the admin of the blog (thelackeylegend) needs to log in click the settings link, click the permissions link, and invite a user. After the user has been invited and confirmed an admin can go back to the same page and change the user to an admin. So in order to avoid mass confusion on who is posting what, I would suggest doing this. Also keep the admins limited to those who know what is going on. So change the password to thelackeylegend user account and add users correctly. Also this blog is currently public so if post your name it is available for the world to see.

La Brea Tar Pits

So we visited the La Brea Tar Pits today. Quite interesting. They have recovered thousands of ice age fossils including mammoths, huge sloths, dire wolves, sabor tooth tigers, and of all of these only one set of human remains, a female. Will upload some pics of it later. They boys liked it for the most part, I of course would like to have more time to read the signs along the way. It is free to walk around the outside and see the pits and where they are recovering fossils, so if any of you ever come south our way, we could walk around there and see it.

Guess

Well you know they are going to Mongolia. Really I think South America like Peru maybe probably something medical. Sorry, Dad and Mom. Soccer has started and is going to be fun. I am not coaching Tayte, but will Savannah. I hope she will stay on the field.

Mission Guesses

We are all crossing our fingers that mom and dad will get their mission call TOMORROW. Having said that, we thought it would be fun to take guesses from everyone as to where they think they might get their call. Keep in mind that it is not a regular mission call, it is a medical mission which we believe is more of an area mission than a specific country. Please cast your vote under comments. These are where they have are assignments: North America East, North America Northeast, North America Northwest, North America West, North America Southwest, Utah North, Utah Salt Lake City, Utah South, North America Southeast, Idaho, North America Central, Mexico, Central America, Caribbean, South America North, South America West, Brazil, Chile, South America South, Europe West, Europe Central, Europe East, Africa West, Africa Southeast, Asia, Asia North, Phillippines, Australia, New Zealand/ Pacific Islands. These Area assignments were found in the August 2007 Ensign. I am assuming they have more medical missions than that, but those are the areas at least. Have fun guessing. Sarah

Noisy neighbors and the police

Well, our upstairs neighbors are back from Hawaii and our neighbors behind us/kitty corner are as usual, so loud that I keep my bedroom windows closed. Upstairs neighbors, not as laid back about noise, go next door again with stick, knock on window, ask them to hold the noise down. Things get crazy, lots of yelling, (pretty sure the back neighbors are from the Middle East somewhere) language gets thrown around, along with a threat about "lots of bodies" or something, and the police show up. Now, I really wouldn't be too worried if I was sure that the crazy neighbors know I have nothing to do with it, but we did have a dead rat that was totally skinned in the back yard last week after the upstairs neighbor complained the night before. It looked like it had literally run out of its own skin. It was only bones and innards. I really didn't think too much of it, but a few people have suggested that it might have been some type of hazing. Hmmm. Maybe it is time to put the battery back in the alarm system and plug the power source back in, and actually have it connected to the alarm company. Wonder how much a month that will cost? Oh the joys of living in a big city. Did I mention that there is also gang graffiti on upstairs neighbor's garage. Something I believe along the lines of Crypt Killer, East Side Bloods. I'm sure this makes you all want to book your tickets to come visit us immediately right?

Lessons from the Great Houdini

I seriously don't know what I am going to do with Kate. She is into scooting and pushes with her legs so hard, that she full barrels through whatever is in front of her. I set up pillows as a "trap" to keep her on the bed and well, do I need to say more than the picture shows. She would have made it through to the floor. Lucky me. Sarah

My Escape Artist

Guess i will try this posting again. Has been a quiet day a home with dad. Caleb was here for about 2 1/2 hours but he was so quiet. I even went walking this morning as Lou is back in town and dad took a bike ride. Kyrie all the kids here started school today so will have to ask Johnnie later. Sorry about the cold, just remeber that i didn't invent it. Mine is mainly still in the lung, just have to cough. Sounds like Daniel had a scare. Glad everything turned out ok. Need to put that money away. Did the paramedics ever arrive. Are you now cat setting. Let's hope they are rich and pay you top dollar. So take good care of those cats. Just saw Ginger around the house, Caleb was chasing her. Gigi will move in with Julie on Friday. Quentin and his family are suppose to come in tonight. Sarah hope you are feeling better. Has the ringing gone away. Love you all Mom-GM

The Heimlich really works

So last Sat. Kade comes running in with Danny, quite frantic. Daniel is choking on a penny, lips turning blue, trying to gasp for air. As I'm yelling for Kyrie to call 911 I start to try to dislodge the dang thing. I wasn't sure how hard to squeeze on him since he is so little. The paramedics were on the way and I was really starting to panic. Finally turned him sort of upside down and did the back smack thing and out it popped. Whew. I felt like I had run a marathon, adrenaline pumping, and very shaky. I always hopped I'd never have to use that, but am glad it worked and Danny is still with us.

Kids & Their Mom Ready For School

Well, finally got all 3 kids registered for school. They start Sept. 4th. Kade starts at 8:00 daily, Jacob 8:30, and Kyrie either 8:00 or 9:00. On Weds they have late start at 9:30 and get out at 2:30. Wish I could've started that late when I was in school.

We are all still adjusting to trying to live within a house with other people and not be so loud. Sounds impossible for us huh? Jacob likes to run and with all hardwood floors that makes a lot of noise.

We've enjoyed the beach a few times. The first time out some Japanese tourists wanted to know if they could take Daniel's picture. They just couldn't get enough of him. Wade now calls him "Famous in Japan" and wants to know why I'm not trying to get him into modeling for ads or something. We figure we could make some good money doing that, but I don't think I want the hassle.

Will post some pics when we can.
Chris

Rolling Over

Posted by Picasa

Rollin' in it

Of course, it seems any time anything major happens in my life, my children decide they want to be more independent, exhibit more freedom, test me while I am down. Kate is rollin' like a crazy woman. My life has now taken a different turn. I now have three mobile children and have to worry about her in a whole different way. Sarah

Get Better Sooooon....

Does that make you feel better? You could always get some other pain killers. I heard that oxycotin is a good one. We might end up heading your way tonight. I still need to talk to Amanda about that one. School has been fun, but not really. It's already been a long week and it's only Wednesday. Anyways, I digress. All is well in Zion.
Dan

boredom strikes again.

Nothing much to do here. just bored. jacob asked if the picture of paige was carley. she does kind of look like her. well i have nothing to do so just post more so i have something to read. the library here sucks they have a very tiny teen section. :P ttyl.

boredom, canker sores, and scriptures.

Well sorry, mother. people need to sign their posts. Geez. Sarah why did you have to throw out the milk? your posts are confusing me. Dont accept the marijuana from my mother,it will only make it worse. I havent started feeding their cats yet, so i dont know. Grandma how's my puppy and my kittens? They doing okay? I have this really bad canker sore in my mouth that consists of 3 canker sores joining together. I dont think eating a whole box of sweetarts helped, really. no grandma, i havent looked up the nephi thing yet, and i really dont get the assignment you gave me, it doesnt really make any sense. well ttyl (talk to you later for you old people who dont know chatspeak)

Pouring Liquid Gold Down the Drain

There is nothing more disappointing then to feel like I am pouring perfectly good milk down the drain. But, it is what the Dr. ordered for the first 24 hour post-op anesthesia. Good thing I have cream as it is anyway. Poor Kate, she just might not get enough to eat. I don't think any of my kids would know what it would be like to be under the 90% in weight. Sarah

mom's here @Sarah

Dad and I came down to spend a few days with sarah after her t&a. am still waiting for kyrie to call me about the interpertation of nephi 1 and how she can liken it unto her situation. maybe she needs to see if her dad will stay home longer if she would ask him nicely. how are the cats. dad and i are still waiting for the mission call, maybe we will survive each other till then. will try to do a conference call when it arrives. chet and truman and families will have to come over with their cell phones. we are all doing fine hope everyone is getting ready for school. we love you all mom

School started today. I'm not very happy about it so far. I feel like kicking my physics teacher in the teeth. For some reason he felt it necessary to make our exams ninety minutes long thus exceeding his allotted class time and forcing me to figure out what I'm going to do about my Bioengineering lab. Needless to say I'm not happy about it. Other than that the day was okay. I still have yet to understand why most of my teachers fell it a necessity to spend an hour going over the syllabus. Maybe they figure that we can't read. We are only in college. Enough of my ranting. This semester is going to be busy, that's for sure.
Love,
Dan

Hey Kyrie, Daniel did post

Yo Kyrie!!! Your uncle Daniel posted. Didn't you notice? That is why everyone should sign their names.
Hope you feel better soon Sarah. Lucky for me I had that done when I was 5 and recovered very quickly. The worst part for me was not being able to jump around for a couple of weeks. I have to agree LorTab does nothing, you should ask for some medical marijuana. I think it is legal here in Cali, want me to see if I can get you some???!! crf

Mother impresses daughter for once. Feeding neighbor's cats. Why isnt anyone else posting? Be brave, men!

Finally! Mother finally took me to the store. I am content. Why is it that no men have posted. You wimps. Step up to the challenge. Momma got some anti-flea spray today and so she is content also, but needs a little bit of more help from the boys. (ive done my part.) Dad is being more of a work-a-holic than ever, trying to sneak away from the chaos i mean our home whenever he gets the chance. but he went to church with us so that earns him a point. I have to take care of our upstairs neighbor's cats and am probably going to get big $$$ cause i think they are rich cause they feed their cat canned food. I mean who does that?? then with that money im going to save up for a web camera so i c a n talk to my friends across the country. Jacob is whining cause he wants to get on so ill leave. i detest little brother.

Ice Scream and " I want to Scream"

Ok, maybe I don't want to scream all that much, but I sure am in a lot of pain. Lortab seems to make me a little fuzzy, all the time, and I haven't tried the Percocet yet, but I am surviving. I had my tonsillectomy today. I should try and take a picture of the huge ominous pockets of old blood in my throat, but I will save you all the trouble. I think if everyone just signed their names to their posts, that might save the trouble of guessing who is writing. I couldn't figure out a way to give us all access otherwise. Sarah

HTML & COOKIES LESSON 1 (taught by yours truly)

"i am not so great with technology. what are html tags and cookies? good thing we are still doing the newsletter or i wouldn't know what was going on, although, this could be fun. anyway, i am jealous of your flash floods, anything would be better than this dry heat, well, almost."

Okay i dont know who this is exactly but html stands for hyper text mark-up language and is the code almost all webpages are written in. You have to use brackets for your commands to tell the webpage what it should look like. yeah im not gonna go in depth or anything (you can talk to truman about that). Cookies are very small text files placed on your hard drive by a Web Page server. It is essentially your identification card, and cannot be executed as code or deliver viruses. It is uniquely yours and can only be read by the server that gave it to you. Yeah i just copied that from microsoft. hope you understood!

Mother promises to take daughter shopping but fails

Yes, its a very sad story. ;[ She told me she would take me last friday but no, the boys cant all come and dad wont help. My family has failed me.
Well were all adjusting okay i guess (still i hate this place) but theres nothing really to do that doesnt involve the house. We bought this really comfy chair at costco that was the display, and it was on sale. When we brought it home, a few days later we had fleas. So now were going to pet supplies plus and target to get some flea killer. Mom thinks it had fleas because everybody here brings their little yip dogs EVEREYWHERE with them. We were walking on rodeo drive (no not a rodeo its pronounced rohdayoh) and saw this lady who was eating at a fancy restaurant outside and had her miniature poodle in a really nice looking dog bed, sitting next to her. Well mom wants me off now so ill talk to you guys later.

Here's a Pic of dad

Hi

Is there no way to grant access to everyone so we can tell who is blogging? I guess if everyone would just sign off then that would make things easier, though I'm sure I can typically tell who's writing due to the style and tone of the piece. Anyways, school starts for us tomorrow and I'm not really all that excited about it. Peace.
Dan and Amanda wanted her name too

Free to do what you want

I have to laugh at Kyrie and applaud her at the same time. I am glad to see someone blogged, but I might be convinced that she needs her own since she changed about everything I did to it. I did have the dots picked out originally, but switched. As for the about me, obviously all Kyrie. But please, all feel free to blog.

Beverly hills is for stupid celeberties not normal people

You can all guess who this is from. Well im really bored out of my mind right now (its sunday what do you expect). I met a few new people at church that are well.. half decent and am going to mutual on tuesday. Mom is taking me shopping tomorrow (she promised last friday but hasnt got to it STILL) And i still hate it here. But we went to the beach yesterday so i guess that was okay except there was a little kid about a couple of feet away from me who peed in the sand and i hope i didnt step in it. Did i tell you i was bored? Amuse me with your posts. lots of love (yeah right), yours truly, Kyrie foster♥♥

Floods and Pods

We recently had a fun time, twice. Flash floods that didn't cause any damage, but sure scared Tanner. I had to dash into the street to save our garbage can that was drifting away. Unfortunately, some of our neighbors weren't so forutnate. As for the bebe pod, love it. Everyone should have one for their kid. Sarah

A New Addition to the Family, again

I have created this blog for everyone to keep in touch with, in a fun, quick and entertaining way. Don't worry, I think we should still continue the newsletter, The Lackey Lore, but this is a way to keep up with technology. Which we should be taking advantage of anyway. Feel free to make posts, add pictures and anything you feel should be on here. Sarah
