This One's for Chris

I couldn't resist. Of course I found this on a page that wasn't so BYU friendly, but I thought it was only appropriate in light of our recent weekend. Thought all might get a kick out of it. We love you.

I still disagree. Leggings could be worn as pants, so really, I could wear my leggings with a t-shirt or something if I wanted to. Personally I really don't care what anyone else thinks and will continue to wear what I want when I want. Heck, maybe I'll just stop wearing my G's then I could really dress trashy.

OH, come on. You have to think that is kind of funny that I totally randomly came upon this. I think there point is, if you are going to wear "leggings" with a short skirt over it then they really are tights. Now, if you are going to wear leggings as pants, with a slightly longer shirt over it, that is something different. I don't think that it is a big deal, like you said, if you are wearing leggings as pants, and if that is your Sunday best, so be it. Obviously you are going to do what you want and wear what you want. You don't have to answer to me, you only have to answer to God. But, I thought it was too much fun to pass up. Just a little jab.

Sarah, I was being a bit tongue in cheek but I hate stuff like that from BYshmuu. I still think that as long as your garments are covered and you are not altering them in order to wear something you are fine. So, I have long legs and can get by with wearing shorter skirts and shorts than others and I don't think it will keep me out of the kingdom, but if it does than I guess I can wear or not wear whatever I want for eternity.

You still didn't admit that it was funny. Actually, both Brett and I found it a rare lol funny. We all know that BYU is a private religious institution and it can have its own standards. I can give any private institution that respect. I am not saying you have to live by their standards. However, it is based on your own religion. This argument could go on and on, wear your leggings all you want. If that is what you want to wear anyway. Letter of the law. . .

These are my points:
1. You asked for our opinion
2. You said it was a dress, which, in turn, is not long enough to cover your garments.
3. Then you said you have leggings on, which are pants
4. Have you ever worn pants to church before
5. Why do you want to start now?
6. If it is pants, and a shirt, and your G's are covered, great-wear it, Like Ivana said, she was wearing hers, but wouldn't wear it to church.
7. Since you asked for our opinion, I hope your feelers aren't hurt

You're worrying too much. My feelings aren't hurt...you should know by now that I have pretty thick skin. Plus, I know not everyone will have the same opinion as me about things to wear and that's okay. I think the outfit on the poster is really cute too.

I think the outfit on the poster is really cute to for a college age student. The point is that you can wear whatever you want to church. Nobody is going to kick you out but do you feel a little self conscious in this outfit, if not why are you asking other opinions. Would you like your daughter to wear this to church.

Chris,

Another point, unfortunately you are going to have to realise that you are no longer in your teens, even if people think you may look that young. Remember you are going to have to play the part of that sophisicated Dr's wife like your mother did. luv m

First off, I don't dress like a teenager and I don't look THAT young. Secondly, the outfit in question is much more Sex in the City than Gossip Girls. I can't help it if you hicks in Idaho and Utah have no fashion sense hahahahaha

And this letter of the law is a bit scary for me...I prefer to follow the spirit of the law

BS and the Kids said...

Spirit of the Law is what I was referring to, not Letter of the Law hence the . . . , and I would think the spirit of the law would say even though you aren't altering your garments, skirts, dresses, etc. should go to your knees since that is where the garment is supposed to reach to. The Spirit of the Law would be that you would wear your Sunday best, wouldn't have to be "of the world" despite ones fashion sense. I know you have pretty tough, thick skin and are going to do what you want is why I think you are going with Letter of the Law on this one "My G's aren't being altered."

i missed something here, what happened to Chris over the weekend? and if you'd stop going to church you wouldnt have to worry about this ;-)

While in Idaho, Chris asked us if we liked her outfit, which she claimed was a dress, that hit her barely below her butt, and some "leggings" underneath it. I told her if it was a dress it was to short to wear to church. She told me it had leggings which were pants. I asked her why she wanted to wear pants to church then. Anyway, she thought her outfit was ok to wear to church, mom and I didn't.

chris said...

That's stretching the truth a bit. It doesn't hit me just below my butt, it goes to the middle of my thigh.

globaljunkie said...

either way it's too short as I wouldn't want to see your saggy thigh or butt. like i said, just hang out at home in your underwear like I do.
