This doesn't happen just in FL. Although, at church a few months ago I did hear about someone who's neighbor had opened his foreclosed home to neighbors to come and take what they wanted. One of the few companies in real estate making money right now are the ones who go in and clean up foreclosed homes for banks.
So who exactly do you think owns the appliances and mechanical equipment in a house? People should start taking the carpet, toilets, windows, doors, etc. and make themselves a shanty.

that's easy, gators are in the water in florida. nothing new on foreclosed homes, owners been trashing them for years.
