AN Indian commercial plane taxiing for takeoff in Bangalore skidded off the runway after hitting a dog which strayed into its path.

The dog died.

    That was the headline, though some papers called it a jackal. We have a stray problem in Bangalore. They attack kids, give everyone rabis etc.
